In the medical world there are so many different terms that apart from the experts almost nobody understands what is being said anymore. We have compiled this comprehensive glossary so that you will no longer have to memorize words like "post-exposure prophylaxis".




Aids

Aids is an acronym for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.




Antibody

Antibodies are proteins found in the blood and other body fluids created by the B-blood lymphocytes as a defense against foreign substances (antigens), the body creates a specific antibody for every antigen.



Antiretroviral medicines

Drugs that suppress the activity of retroviruses like the HI-Virus.
